HENDERSON, Nev. (October 12, 2022) – After a month on the road, the College of Southern Nevada Men's Soccer team was excited to return to the Las Vegas Valley for the final week of the 2022 regular season.
Opening a short homestand with No. 2 Salt Lake on Wednesday, the Coyotes were hoping to close the season on a high note, giving them good momentum and potentially some signature wins heading into the postseason. Unfortunately, the homestand started with a 2-0 loss to Salt Lake, dropping CSN to 0-2 on the season against the Bruins. Southern Nevada is now 6-9-1 overall and 4-5-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference matches.
CSN was competitive throughout the match, making the plays it needed to so that both teams were tied late into the second half. SLCC did hold a sizable advantage in total shots though, with one of those shots leading to a goal in the 66
th minute to help the Bruins take the lead. Salt Lake also scored a late insurance goal.
Southern Nevada goalkeeper
Damian Moreno finished with five saves in the loss.
Eli Zaragosa posted four shots and a pair of shots-on-goal.
The Coyotes will host 'Sophomore Day' on Saturday in the regular season finale against USU Eastern, with a scheduled start time of 1:30 p.m. at the Cheyenne Sports Complex.
