HENDERSON, Nev. (October 6, 2022) – A competitive Scenic West Athletic Conference battle with a nationally ranked opponent ended in a narrow loss for the College of Southern Nevada Men's Soccer team Thursday.
CSN took to the road for a matchup at No. 15 Snow College, with the Coyotes falling in a close 3-2 decision. The loss drops Southern Nevada to 5-8-1 overall and 3-4-1 in Scenic West play.
It was Southern Nevada who claimed early momentum, with
Kristan Botello scoring with 6:38 in the first half to give the Coyotes a 1-0 lead. After ending the half in a 1-1 tie, Snow claimed the lead in the 46
th minute but
Daniel Garciacano tied the match just minutes later on an
Anthony Carrasco assist. Snow ultimately scored the go-ahead goal in the 59
th minute.
Snow held an 18-9 advantage in total shots, with CSN goalkeeper
Damian Moreno making a pair of saves in the loss. Botello,
Steven Chitescu and
Eli Zaragosa all had a pair of shots.
Southern Nevada will play at Colorado Northwestern on Saturday.
