HENDERSON, Nev. (November 17, 2022) – The home opener for the College of Southern Nevada Men's Basketball team couldn't have gone any better.
Opening a weekend tournament inside Coyote Event Center, CSN posted an 88-82 overtime victory over Phoenix College, opening the 'Coyote Classic' in style. The Coyotes are now 2-5 overall.
In a game that went back-and-forth, neither team led by more than seven points in regulation as both CSN and Phoenix played strong defense to hold each other in-check. Once in overtime, the Coyotes exerted their will, holding Phoenix to just 1-of-4 shooting in extra time.
Southern Nevada forced 20 Phoenix turnovers, finishing with a 50-28 edge in bench points. Johnny Braggs, Ray Daniels and Darren Jones all scored 14 points each to lead the Coyotes.
John Jenkins also scored 13 points in the win.
CSN will play Arizona Western on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
