HENDERSON, Nev. (February 17, 2022) – Nothing is more exciting in sports than a game-winning shot to win a basketball game.
The College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team experienced that blissful sensation Thursday, thanks to
Samantha Greene hitting a late jump shot to give the Lady Coyotes a 57-56 win over Snow College. The win boosts CSN to 14-15 overall, with a mark of 9-8 in Scenic West Athletic Conference games.
Southern Nevada played well throughout the first half, holding a 32-18 halftime lead after limiting Snow to just 7-of-32 shooting from the field. CSN had its own offensive struggles in the third quarter, going just 4-of-15 from the field, and then recovered to set up the Greene shot to win with just seconds remaining.
Sharmayne Finley led the Lady Coyotes with 15 points, while
Destiny Brown posted a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Ariana Grimes,
Ayauna Scott and
Samantha Greene all scored 8 points apiece.
CSN will close the regular season on Saturday, hosting 'Sophomore Day' with a 1:00 p.m. game against the College of Southern Idaho.
