HENDERSON, Nev. (August 20, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Men's Soccer team suffered a disappointing loss on Saturday.
A day after earning an impressive win over Arizona Western, the Coyotes responded with a narrow 5-4 loss. The loss drops CSN to 1-1 overall, with just a single match left in the opening weekend.
After trailing 2-0 through most of the first half,
Cypress Navarro-Acio scored to cut the CSN deficit to 2-1 at the half.
Ian Martinez and
Eli Zaragosa then scored goals early in the second half to give the Coyotes at 3-2 lead. Zaragosa scored a tying goal in the 86
th minute after Casper came back, but Casper scored the go-ahead goal in the 89
th minute.
Zaragosa finished with a trio of shots in the match.
Jonathan Hernandez made two saves for CSN in the loss.
Southern Nevada will play again Sunday, facing off against Allan Hancock College at 10:00 a.m. at the Cheyenne Sports Complex.
