HENDERSON, Nev. (September 1, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Men's Soccer team responded from a tough preseason with a resounding start to Scenic West Athletic Conference play Thursday.
Hosting Colorado Northwestern to open the league season, the Coyotes earned a 6-0 win over the visiting Spartans to open the league season at 1-0. Southern Nevada is now 2-5 overall.
CSN seized control early and never looked back, with
Mario Juarez scoring a goal in the 6
th minute to give the Coyotes an early lead. Emmanuel Barrun-Ocampo later scored in the 44
th minute to help Southern Nevada to a 2-0 halftime lead.
The Coyotes played well offensively in the second half, thanks to
Saul Chavez-Ramirez scoring a goal in the 54
th minute. Then
Diego Carrasco posted a goal in the 56
th minute.
Daniel Garciacano scored in the 63
rdminute, then
Christian Garza ended the CSN scoring in the 86
th minute.
CSN held a 33-4 advantage in total shots.
Damian Moreno and
Jonathan Hernandez combined to post a shutout win at goal.
Southern Nevada will host Snow College and Truckee Meadows in Scenic West play next week.
