HENDERSON, Nev. (January 12, 2023) – A weekend road trip against a pair of the Scenic West Athletic Conference's elite programs started well for the College of Southern Nevada Men's Basketball team Thursday.
Opening a two-game set with Snow College, the Coyotes claimed a 91-87 decision over the host Badgers. The loss drops CSN to 8-10 overall and 2-3 in Scenic West play.
In a game with 14 lead changes and where neither team led by more than nine points, the Coyotes held an 86-79 lead with 3:49 left in the game, prior to Snow going on a late run that cut the deficit to 88-87 with just 45 seconds remaining.
Anthony Swift converted a layup with 17 seconds left for CSN, helping Southern Nevada on to the victory.
In the final statistics, it was easy to see Southern Nevada claimed the win with solid defense. CSN limited Snow to just 6-of-28 shooting from three-point range, part of the Badgers shooting only 47.3 percent for the game.
Darren Jones led Southern Nevada with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while
Max Topham posted 16 points.
Anthony Swift scored 13 points and
Kendrick Gilbert had 12 points.
Southern Nevada will travel to play at No. 2 Southern Idaho on Saturday.
