HENDERSON, Nev. (January 14, 2023) – The College of Southern Nevada Men's Basketball team played strong in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game with one of the NJCAA's elite programs.
Facing off against No. 2 Southern Idaho, the Coyotes had one of their strongest performances of the season but fell in a 88-71 road loss. CSN is now 8-11 overall and 2-5 in Scenic West games with the loss.
Southern Nevada started well and powered to an early lead, a start that held up as Southern Idaho held a narrow 38-31 lead at halftime. CSI began to stretch out its lead in the second half, limiting the Coyotes to just 1-of-8 shooting from three-point range.
Kendrick Gilbert and
Anthony Swift both scored 17 points each to lead Southern Nevada, while
Ray Daniels finished with 9 points.
John Jenkins had 8 points.
Southern Nevada will continue its long road trip next week, traveling to play Colorado Northwestern and USU Eastern.
