HENDERSON, Nev. (January 14, 2023) – A game against one of the NJCAA's elite programs did not go well for the College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team.
CSN dropped a 91-52 decision at No. 7 Southern Idaho, falling to 0-2 on the season against CSI. The loss also drops the Lady Coyotes to 7-9 overall and 2-5 in Scenic West play.
Both teams started well, with Southern Idaho holding a narrow 22-19 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Golden Eagles opened the game up in the middle quarters, outscoring CSN 47-18 to hold a 69-37 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Southern Nevada shot just 36.1 percent in the game, going 2-of-12 from three-point range. CSN also finished with 22 turnovers.
Jordyn Stroud posted 13 points to lead the Lady Coyotes, while
Aaliyah Ibarra and
Paige Grant each had 7 points each.
Breanna Diaz also scored 6 points.
Southern Nevada will play three more road games next week, facing off against USU Eastern and Colorado Northwestern.
