HENDERSON, Nev. (February 16, 2023) – The start of a weekend road trip did not go well for the College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team Thursday.
CSN dropped a 69-58 game at Salt Lake, breaking a two-game winning streak to start its toughest road trip of the year. The Lady Coyotes are now 11-14 overall and 5-10 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Southern Nevada played well throughout the game defensively, holding the Bruins to just 35.4 percent shooting and just 1-of-13 from three-point range. The difference came in Salt Lake's physicality, with the Bruins taking an edge in rebounding (54-33) and offensive rebounds (18-7). CSN held a lead late in the first quarter (15-14), then never led again.
Jordyn Stroud led the Lady Coyotes with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
Aaliyah Ibarra scored 13 points, while
Kayla Javillo had 12 points.
Southern Nevada will travel to play at No. 4 Southern Idaho on Saturday.
