HENDERSON, Nev. (February 18, 2023) – A matchup with the NJCAA's top ranked program ended in a disappointing loss for the College of Southern Nevada Men's Basketball team Saturday.
CSN struggled offensively in a 79-63 loss at Southern Idaho, falling to 0-3 on the year against the Golden Eagles. The loss drops the Coyotes to 14-15 overall and 8-9 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Southern Nevada played well to start, leading 18-9 with 9:15 left in the first half after
Anthony Swift hit a jump shot. Southern Idaho went on an extended run though to close out the first half, taking a 37-29 lead at the break. CSN struggled offensively throughout the second half, shooting just 38.7 percent and going only 9-of-18 from the free-throw line.
Ray Daniels finished with 17 points to lead CSN, while
Darren Jones scored 15 points.
Kasen Boggs had a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds, while
Kendrick Gilbert scored 10 points.
Southern Nevada will close the 2022-23 regular season next weekend at home, hosting USU Eastern on Saturday for the program's 'Sophomore Day'.
