The College of Southern Nevada volleyball team continued to fight hard but ultimately fell to Central Arizona College in four sets (25-23, 22-25, 18-25, 16-25) in a competitive conference match. Despite a strong opening set win, the Coyotes couldn't sustain the momentum, dropping to 0-16 on the season and 0-9 in conference play.
Southern Nevada came out with energy in the first set, led by standout performances from Sydney Hall and Jeannie Anderson, who combined for 18 kills. Hall recorded 10 kills on 53 swings, while Anderson added 8 kills and 4 blocks to give the Coyotes a crucial edge. Their aggressive attacking helped CSN secure a 25-23 victory, giving them early hope.
However, Central Arizona quickly regrouped in the second set, powered by the dominant play of Olivia Bartrina, who recorded a match-high 27 kills. Bartrina, alongside Carolina Moreno, who added 18 kills, helped the Vaqueros take control. CSN fought hard, but costly errors in the second set led to a narrow 25-22 loss.
In the third and fourth sets, Central Arizona's offense continued to roll, with efficient attacking and strong serving. The Coyotes struggled to maintain the same intensity, hitting just .071 in the third set and .077 in the fourth. Despite efforts from Aleyson Ross, who added 9 kills and 4 aces, and Kenzy Arafa, who dished out 33 assists, CSN couldn't overcome the pressure, falling 25-18 and 25-16 in the final two sets.
Defensively, Tia Alofipo anchored the back row with an impressive 28 digs, while Ross and Anderson contributed 14 and 6 digs, respectively. The Coyotes showed moments of strong blocking as well, tallying 14 total block assists as a team.
