Coolidge, AZ — The College of Southern Nevada volleyball team opened its two-match road series in Coolidge, Arizona, on Friday evening, showing grit and determination against Central Arizona College. Despite falling in three sets (17–25, 7–25, 18–25), the Coyotes continued to compete with energy and found bright moments throughout the match.
Emma Albright turned in one of her strongest offensive performances of the season, leading the Coyotes with 14 kills while hitting .156 on 32 attempts. Her aggressive net play and leadership helped CSN stay competitive throughout the evening.
Kimora Combes added five kills, and
Isabella Pereira-Liugalua tallied three more as part of a balanced offensive effort.
Setter
Libbie Ferreiro directed the offense with 11 assists and also contributed a block and a dig, while
Madison Ortiz provided 12 assists and helped stabilize the Coyotes' serve-receive game.
Defensively,
Tia Alofipo continued her strong play in the back row, leading the team with 16 digs and providing steady coverage across the floor. Ortiz added eight digs, and Pereira-Liugalua chipped in seven as CSN worked hard to limit Central Arizona's scoring runs.
The Coyotes' energy and communication continued to be a strength, particularly in the opening and third sets where CSN kept the momentum close with long rallies and strong defensive touches. The team's continued growth and chemistry were evident as several players stepped up to contribute in multiple areas.
The Coyotes will close out the two-match series with Game 2 on Saturday, October 18, once again facing Central Arizona College. With continued focus and teamwork, CSN looks to build on Friday's effort and turn its competitive stretches into extended runs on the court.
