North Las Vegas, NV — The College of Southern Nevada volleyball team opened its final home weekend of the 2025 season with great energy on Friday night, hosting the Arizona Western College Matadors in the first of a two-match series inside the Coyote Event Center. Despite falling in three sets (23–25, 15–25, 15–25), the Coyotes showed strong stretches of play and continued to build momentum heading into Saturday's home finale.
Sophomore
Dani Robinson once again led the Coyote offense, posting a team-high 13 kills on 45 swings, while
Libbie Ferreiro turned in an efficient all-around performance with four kills, 24 assists, and two service aces. Freshman
Kimora Combes added four kills and contributed three big blocks at the net, helping CSN stay competitive in the opening set, which went down to the wire.
The Coyotes came out with intensity, matching the Matadors point-for-point early in the first set before narrowly dropping a 25–23 decision. Their fast start was fueled by strong serving from
Tia Alofipo, who delivered four aces on the night, and steady play from
Paige Gates and
Isabella Pereira-Liugalua, who each added key kills to keep CSN within striking distance.
Defensively, Alofipo led the back line with 13 digs, while Robinson and Combes added nine and two respectively. The Coyotes also tallied six team blocks, showcasing their continued improvement at the net.
The Coyotes will return to action on Saturday, October 25, at 1:00 p.m. when they host Arizona Western once again in the final home match of the season. Prior to first serve, CSN will honor its sophomore student-athletes for their dedication and contributions to the program.
