Prescott, AZ — The College of Southern Nevada volleyball team continued to show grit and growth on Friday night, going toe-to-toe with Yavapai College in a competitive four-set matchup before falling 3-1 (21-25, 23-25, 25-23, 18-25) in Prescott, Arizona.
After narrowly dropping the opening two sets, the Coyotes roared back with a statement in the third, earning a hard-fought 25-23 win behind balanced offense and strong defensive play. CSN's energy carried throughout the evening as they continued to push one of the ACCAC's top programs deep into every set.
Freshman
Isabella Pereira-Liugalua led the Coyotes with a match-high 13 kills, providing consistent power on the outside.
Kimora Combes was equally strong, adding 12 kills on an efficient .281 hitting percentage while totaling 14 points overall.
Reagan Vint provided timely offense from the middle, finishing with eight kills and two service aces, while
Madison Ortiz and
Dani Robinson each added valuable contributions to the attack.
Paige Gates directed the offense with 17 assists, while Ortiz also tallied 12 assists in a dual-setter system that kept Yavapai's defense guessing.
CSN's back-row play stood out all evening, led by
Tia Alofipo and Vint, who each recorded 16 digs.
Isabella Pereira-Liugalua added 10 digs to complete a double-double performance, while the Coyotes combined for 62 digs as a team — showcasing their improved defensive structure and determination on long rallies.
The Coyotes' performance in Prescott reflected a team on the rise, showing resilience and teamwork across the board. With continued growth in offensive balance and defensive consistency, CSN remains poised for a strong finish to the fall slate.
