Twin Falls, ID - The Coyotes came out firing and never looked back, scoring 49 points in the first half before matching that total with another 53 in the second. Sophomore guard
Ryan Raad led all scorers with a game-high 30 points, connecting on 9-of-13 shots, including 6-of-8 from three-point range and a perfect 6-for-7 from the free throw line.
Demarion Yap made a huge impact on both ends, finishing with 23 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals, while
Gerald Patterson anchored the paint with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Sophomore
Drake Watanabe added 13 points and 4 assists off the bench, and
Corbin Putnam was 4-for-5 from the floor en route to 9 points and 2 assists.
CSN shot an impressive 55.4% from the field and 46.9% from three-point range, while also hitting 75% at the free throw line. The Coyotes' offensive rhythm was matched by unselfish play—tallying 22 assists on 36 made field goals—and aggressive defense that forced 19 turnovers from the Spartans.
The Coyotes' ability to respond to runs proved critical. After CNCC closed within five late in the second half, Raad and Yap combined for a flurry of threes to rebuild a comfortable cushion. Patterson sealed the game in the final minutes with a three-pointer and a pair of strong finishes inside.
In addition to the offensive fireworks, CSN displayed strong rebounding and hustle. The Coyotes controlled the boards 29–25 and outscored CNCC 22–15 in points off turnovers, while also recording 12 steals as a team.
With the win, CSN improves to 1–0 on the season and will face host College of Southern Idaho tonight at 6:00 p.m. as tournament play continues in Twin Falls.
