October 31, 2025 – Richfield, Utah- The College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team tipped off the 2025-26 campaign on Friday afternoon with a strong effort in a competitive matchup against Utah State University Eastern, falling just short in a 63-57 decision at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield, Utah.
CSN showed impressive balance in the opener, with nine different players contributing to the scoring column. Freshman
Saroiya Ajomale led the Coyotes with 17 points and three rebounds, while sophomore
Trista Mabry recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, anchoring CSN on both ends of the floor.

Jada Green provided a spark off the bench, finishing with 8 points and 5 rebounds in a physical inside performance.
Alanna Jackson and
Alana Conner each contributed timely baskets that helped the Coyotes stay within striking distance throughout the contest.
The Coyotes matched the Eagles shot for shot early, battling to a 16-16 tie after the first quarter. CSN's defensive energy kept Utah State Eastern off balance, forcing 15 turnovers and limiting the Eagles to just 27.5% shooting from the field.
After trailing by just one at halftime (27-26), the Lady Coyotes continued to grind in the second half, highlighted by strong rebounding and second-chance opportunities. Despite a brief fourth-quarter deficit, CSN kept fighting.
CSN dominated the paint with 28 points inside and 21 second-chance points, showing promise in the rebounding battle with a 53-49 advantage on the glass. The Coyotes also converted 18 of 30 free throws (60%), demonstrating aggressiveness and depth throughout the roster.
The Lady Coyotes (0-1) will continue play in Utah on Saturday, November 1, taking on Snow College at noon to wrap up the weekend road series.
