PHOENIX, Ariz. — The College of Southern Nevada Men's Basketball team continued its strong early-season form Thursday night, powering past Phoenix College 78–68 on the road to move to 4–1 overall. A dominant second half and a trio of standout performances pushed the Coyotes to their fourth straight victory.
Forward
Gerald Patterson was nearly unstoppable, erupting for 26 points on 11-of-22 shooting while grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds. Patterson's relentless activity on the offensive glass (6 ORB) helped CSN seize momentum late in the first half and control the game after the break.
Guard
Ivoryon Cuffee delivered another complete performance, finishing with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals. His defensive pressure and ability to create open looks fueled a 40-point second half for the Coyotes.
Sharpshooter
Ryan Raad added 10 points, including a pair of big three-pointers, while also dishing out 6 assists and collecting 3 steals. His timely spacing and ball distribution helped CSN pull away midway through the second half.
Despite trailing 41–38 at the break, CSN responded with poise and toughness. The Coyotes outscored Phoenix College 40–27 in the second half, sparked by defensive adjustments and improved transition play. CSN forced 15 steals overall and converted turnovers into critical scoring opportunities.
Bench contributions were also crucial.
- Drake Watanabe provided a lift with 9 points on three triples.
- Qualib Ghallab added 6 points and 3 boards with efficient finishing around the rim.
- Demarion Yap chipped in 8 points and 4 steals, giving CSN consistent defensive disruption.
The Coyotes outrebounded Phoenix College 40–34, with Patterson, Cuffee, and Raad leading the charge. CSN also kept Phoenix College's shooters in check in the second half, holding them to just 27 points after allowing 41 before the break.
CSN continues its Arizona road trip with another tough matchup, traveling to Chandler to face Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
