November 7, 2025 – North Las Vegas, NV –The College of Southern Nevada men's basketball team opened its home schedule with authority Friday night, defeating Grand Canyon University Club 96–86 at the Coyote Event Center. With the victory, the Coyotes improved to 2–1 overall, while GCU Club dropped to 8–4 on the season.
The Coyotes wasted no time feeding off the home crowd energy, exploding for a 63-point first half on an incredible 80.6% shooting performance from the field.

Ryan Raad caught fire early, scoring 19 points before the break on 7-of-8 shooting, including four three-pointers. Fellow standout
Gerald Patterson matched his teammate's pace with 18 first-half points, consistently finishing inside and controlling the boards.
CSN's offensive execution was complemented by tough defense and transition efficiency, forcing turnovers and converting them into 15 fast-break points in the opening half. At the break, the Coyotes held a commanding 63–41 lead, showcasing one of their most efficient halves this season.
Grand Canyon Club came out strong after halftime behind Dustin Richmond's 28-point performance, narrowing the gap to single digits midway through the second half. But CSN's composure, balanced scoring, and defensive rebounding proved too much down the stretch.
Ivoryon Cuffee added 14 points, six assists, and five rebounds, while Demarion Yap contributed 11 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, providing the Coyotes with key possessions late in the game.
Despite being outscored 45–33 in the second half, the Coyotes maintained their double-digit margin with timely baskets from
Drake Watanabe, who chipped in 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including a pair of three-pointers.
Five Coyotes reached double figures, led by Patterson and Raad, who each scored 26 points. Patterson also grabbed eight rebounds, while Raad connected on 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
CSN shot a blistering 62.3% from the field and 60% from three-point range (9-of-15), while holding GCU to 50% overall and just 26% from the free-throw line. The Coyotes owned the interior with 50 points in the paint, outrebounding the Lopes 37–35, and dishing out 21 assists as a team.
The Coyotes will wrap up their home-opening weekend on Saturday, November 8, when they once again host Grand Canyon University Club at 4:00 p.m. inside the Coyote Event Center.
With momentum on their side and an early-season record now above .500, CSN will look to build on Friday's impressive performance and continue sharpening both ends of the floor.
