November 7, 2025 – North Las Vegas, NV – The College of Southern Nevada women's basketball team opened the 2025–2026 home slate in emphatic fashion Friday evening, rolling to a 91–56 victory over Grand Canyon University Club at the Coyote Event Center on the North Las Vegas campus. The win improved both teams' records to
1–2 overall, as CSN found its rhythm on both ends of the floor to earn its first home victory of the 2025–2026 season.
CSN came out with confidence, setting the tempo early with stifling defense and dominant rebounding. The Lady Coyotes raced to an 18–6 first-quarter lead, fueled by fast-break execution and paint dominance. Guard
Saroiya Ajomale provided early energy, scoring five points in the opening frame, while forward
Trista Mabry controlled the glass.
Although GCU found a brief rhythm in the second quarter, CSN's interior size and depth maintained the advantage. Ajomale and
Alanna Jackson combined for timely scoring inside, helping the Coyotes head into the half up 38–28.
After halftime, CSN took full control of the contest, outscoring GCU 23–7 in the third quarter. The Coyotes shot over 55 percent from the field during the period, anchored by Ajomale's attacking drives and a balanced offensive effort that saw seven different players contribute points.
The defense was equally impressive—forcing turnovers, limiting second-chance opportunities, and holding the Lopes to just three field goals in the quarter. CSN continued its dominance in the fourth, extending the lead to as many as 38 points behind a relentless transition game and strong bench contributions.
Ajomale led all scorers with 23 points, adding 10 rebounds, five steals, and three assists for a double-double performance. Jackson powered the paint with 12 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, while Mabry added 10 points and 14 rebounds, giving the Coyotes two double-doubles on the night.
Mya Harper provided an offensive spark off the bench with 10 points, including two three-pointers, while
Alana Conner matched her total with 9 points and five boards. The balanced attack saw nine Coyotes score and four finish with at least seven points.
As a team, CSN shot 40 percent from the field (34-of-85), outrebounded GCU 74–44, and scored 44 points in the paint. The Coyotes' defense turned up the pressure, forcing 19 turnovers that translated into 24 points off takeaways.
The Lady Coyotes will wrap up their two-game homestand against Grand Canyon University Club Saturday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m. inside the Coyote Event Center.
With renewed energy and a balanced roster showing early-season chemistry, CSN will look to carry Friday's momentum forward as the team continues its non-conference slate.
