North Las Vegas, NV (Nov. 8, 2025) — The College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team delivered its most complete performance of the young season Saturday afternoon, overpowering Grand Canyon University Club 81–44 at the Coyote Event Center on the North Las Vegas campus. The victory evened the Coyotes' record at 2–2 heading into a key road test at Phoenix College on November 13.

CSN wasted little time establishing control. After trading baskets in the opening minute, the Coyotes used a suffocating defensive stretch and efficient transition offense to build an early double-digit lead.

Mya Harper connected on a mid-range jumper and followed with a deep three-pointer, while freshman Saroiya Ajomale attacked the lane for consecutive fast-break layups to give CSN a 15–2 cushion midway through the first quarter.

The Coyotes' ball pressure—anchored by Trista Mabry and Leah Mitchell—forced multiple GCU turnovers, turning defensive rebounds into easy runouts.

Grand Canyon found life late in the period with a trio of three-pointers from Kira Carter, Margaret Hobson, and Mariah Streeter, trimming the deficit to 21–19 before the Coyotes closed the quarter strong. Briza Flores and Mariah Streeter combined on a late run to keep GCU within reach, but a steady defensive stand helped Southern Nevada hold a 23–19 advantage after ten minutes.

The second quarter proved decisive. CSN's length and athleticism on defense completely disrupted GCU's offensive rhythm, holding the visitors to just five points in the frame. Ajomale and Harper sparked another surge with a combination of steals, fast-break conversions, and perimeter shooting.

Mitchell's aggressive defense at the top of the key fueled transition opportunities, while Jada Green and Mabry controlled the boards on both ends, limiting GCU to one shot per trip.
CSN's offense was balanced and efficient. Alana Conner scored in transition, Harper hit another triple from the right wing, and Elizebeth Mahavong and Leah Mitchell combined to hit four straight free throws late in the half.

By halftime, the Coyotes led 43–24—outscoring the Antelopes 20–5 in the second period—and held a commanding advantage in rebounds and steals.

Southern Nevada opened the third quarter the same way it ended the first half: with defense. Ajomale blocked a shot on the first GCU possession, Harper drew a foul in transition, and Mabry and Green dominated the paint, each swatting away scoring attempts.

Harper connected again from beyond the arc at the 8:02 mark, stretching CSN's lead to 47–24 and forcing a GCU timeout.

From there, the Coyotes' depth began to show. Satsuki Bradley buried a three from the wing, Vazquez added a pair of free throws, and Mitchell scored off a steal and coast-to-coast finish. By the time the third quarter horn sounded, CSN's advantage had ballooned to 59–34.

The fourth quarter turned into a showcase of CSN's depth, as every active player contributed meaningful minutes.

Alanna Jackson powered her way to two layups in the paint, Mahavong scored twice at the line, and Mitchell again made her mark defensively with back-to-back steals that led to points in transition.

Late in the period, freshman Bailey Anderson and Briza Flores provided the only answers for GCU, but CSN's relentless pace overwhelmed the visitors.

CSN controlled every major statistical category. The Coyotes shot 34.5% from the field while holding GCU Club to 27.7%, including 19.4% from three-point range.
The home team dominated the boards with a 65–44 rebounding edge, led by Mabry's 10 rebounds, Ajomale's 10 boards, and Green's 8 rebounds.

CSN's defensive pressure forced 29 turnovers, converting them into 30 points off turnovers. The Coyotes also posted 23 second-chance points thanks to 28 offensive rebounds, and held a 14–2 advantage in fast-break scoring.

Bench production was another key, as CSN's reserves poured in 37 points compared to GCU's 28.
