Lady Coyotes Fall at Eastern Arizona in ACCAC Road Test

THATCHER, Ariz. — Eastern Arizona College used steady pressure and balanced scoring to pull away early and hand the College of Southern Nevada women's basketball team a 68–31 loss Wednesday night (Jan. 21) at Guitteau Gymnasium in ACCAC play.

CSN was unable to find an offensive rhythm against the Gila Monsters' defense, as Eastern Arizona built a double-digit lead in the opening quarter and continued to extend the margin throughout the night. The Lady Coyotes were held to single-digit scoring in each of the first three periods before closing strong at the free-throw line in the fourth.

Eastern Arizona struck first and never relinquished control, opening the game with a 16–6 first quarter. The Gila Monsters knocked down three early three-pointers and capitalized on CSN turnovers to establish momentum, while the Lady Coyotes struggled to convert at the rim.

CSN continued to battle in the second quarter, but Eastern Arizona's depth and ball movement proved effective. The Gila Monsters outscored the Lady Coyotes 18–5 in the period, pushing the halftime advantage to 34–11.

The third quarter followed a similar pattern as Eastern Arizona continued to attack in transition and from the perimeter, extending the lead to 53–15 heading into the final frame. CSN continued to rotate players and look for answers offensively, generating opportunities but struggling to convert from the field.

The Lady Coyotes showed resilience in the fourth quarter, scoring 16 points—nearly half of their total—while getting to the free-throw line consistently. Elizebeth Mahavong and Satsuki Bradley combined for key trips to the stripe as CSN closed the game with its most productive offensive stretch.

Mahavong led CSN with 10 points, scoring six of those at the free-throw line, while Bradley followed with seven points. Alanna Jackson and Jada Green each added four points, with Jackson also pulling down five rebounds to pace the Lady Coyotes on the glass.

Eastern Arizona was led by Esmeralda Enriquez, who finished with a game-high 15 points. Danaeja Romero-Ah Sam added 11 points off the bench, while Trinity Alex-Mayer chipped in eight as the Gila Monsters shot 47.5 percent from the floor and connected on seven three-pointers.

The Lady Coyotes will look to regroup as they return home for their next ACCAC contest. CSN hosts Central Arizona College on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Coyote Event Center.
