NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The College of Southern Nevada women's basketball team continued its strong nonconference play Tuesday afternoon, earning a 76–63 victory over Phoenix College at the Coyote Event Center.
CSN (11–3) built momentum steadily across four quarters, using balanced scoring, control of the boards, and efficiency at the free-throw line to pull away from the Bears. After leading 36–22 at halftime, the Lady Coyotes extended the margin with a 25-point third quarter before closing out the win.
Forward
Alanna Jackson anchored the Coyotes inside with a double-double effort, finishing with 15 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Jackson went 7-of-9 at the free-throw line and helped CSN dominate the glass, outrebounding Phoenix College 43–24.
CSN placed five players in double figures, led by
Trista Mabry, who scored 14 points while adding six rebounds and three assists.
Saroiya Ajomale chipped in 13 points and five rebounds, while
Mya Harper added 12 points, knocking down two three-pointers.
Satsuki Bradley rounded out the balanced attack with 10 points.
The Lady Coyotes shot 44.4 percent from the floor and converted 24-of-30 free throws, a key factor in maintaining separation throughout the contest. Defensively, CSN forced 22 Phoenix College turnovers and protected the paint with eight blocked shots.
Phoenix College (6–8) was paced by Steffy Cervantes, who scored 15 points, and Daiana Hollman, who added 12, but the Bears were unable to overcome CSN's depth and rebounding advantage.
With the non-conference schedule complete, CSN now turns its focus to ACCAC play. The Lady Coyotes will travel to Douglas, Arizona, to open conference action with a two-game series at Cochise College on Thursday, January 8, and Friday, January 9.
