Douglas, Ariz. — January 8, 2026- The College of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes opened ACCAC conference play on the road Thursday night, falling 77–37 to Cochise College at the Apaches' home gym in Douglas, Arizona.
Cochise jumped out quickly, building a 21–6 advantage after the first quarter and extending the lead to 35–10 by halftime. The Apache's controlled the paint and capitalized on turnovers throughout the night, never allowing CSN to find an offensive rhythm.
Saroiya Ajomale led the Lady Coyotes with 18 points, knocking down two three-pointers and going 6-for-11 at the free-throw line. Ajomale also added four steals in an aggressive two-way effort.
Trista Mabry contributed seven points and a team-high six rebounds, while
Alanna Jackson and
Alana Conner each chipped in four points off the bench.
CSN struggled from the field, shooting 20.6 percent overall (13-of-63) and 2-of-11 from beyond the arc. The Lady Coyotes were also limited at the free-throw line, converting 9-of-26 attempts, as Cochise's pressure defense disrupted offensive flow.
Cochise was paced by Gaby Oliver, who finished with 16 points and six assists, while Cecy Burruel added 14 points and Hannah Dibadjou recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Apaches shot 58.6 percent from the floor and held a decisive 45–32 rebounding edge.
Despite the setback, the Lady Coyotes showed resilience in the second half, scoring 27 points after the break and continuing to compete on both ends as conference play got underway.
CSN (11–4, 0–1 ACCAC) will look to respond quickly, as the Lady Coyotes and Apaches meet again Friday, January 9, in Douglas to close out the two-game conference series.
