The College of Southern Nevada men's basketball team dropped a 70–59 decision to Yavapai College Roughriders on Saturday afternoon in Prescott, Arizona.
CSN led 35–33 at the break, but Yavapai outscored the Coyotes 37–24 in the second half to pull away down the stretch. The Coyotes shot 43.9 percent from the field (25-of-57) and went 7-of-26 from three-point range, while Yavapai converted 19-of-25 free throws to help swing the second-half momentum.
Gerald Patterson paced the Coyotes with a game-high 20 points, shooting 10-of-15 from the floor while adding six rebounds in 38 minutes. Drake Watanabe provided a spark off the bench, knocking down four three-pointers on his way to 12 points. Ivoryon Cuffee added nine points and three rebounds, while Maximus Romero chipped in seven points.
CSN was held to just two free throw attempts on the night, while Yavapai finished with a 44–16 rebounding advantage, including 17 offensive boards, which resulted in extended possessions for the Roughriders.
The Coyotes will return home to the Coyote Event Center to host Arizona Western College Matadors on Wednesday, February 4, in ACCAC play.
