Lady Coyotes Close ACCAC Play with 65–55 Win, Await Region 1 Postseason Fate

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The College of Southern Nevada women's basketball team closed ACCAC regular-season play Saturday afternoon with a pivotal 65–55 victory over Central Arizona College at the Coyote Event Center, securing a three-way tie for the final two playoff positions in the Region 1 standings.

With the win, the Lady Coyotes finish conference play at 6–9 (17–12 overall), matching Central Arizona and Cochise College in the standings. A coin flip and play-in scenario will determine the final two postseason berths, with official seedings and host sites scheduled to be announced Monday. Eastern Arizona College has clinched the No. 1 seed, while Arizona Western secured the No. 2 position.

Saturday's matchup carried postseason intensity from the opening tip.

CSN struck first on a layup by Alanna Jackson, assisted by Trista Mabry, before Central Arizona answered with early interior scoring. The Vaqueras briefly held a two-point edge midway through the first quarter, but a three-pointer from Satsuki Bradley and steady free-throw shooting kept the Lady Coyotes within reach. CSN edged Central Arizona 14–13 after one, despite committing seven first-quarter turnovers.

The defining stretch came in the second quarter.

With the score tied at 16, Saroiya Ajomale seized control offensively. The sophomore guard poured in 15 second-quarter points, shooting 6-of-7 from the field during a dominant run that swung momentum decisively in CSN's favor. The Lady Coyotes shot 52.6 percent in the period and outscored Central Arizona 25–11, building a 39–24 halftime advantage. CSN's largest lead reached 18 points late in the quarter as Jackson and Mabry controlled the glass and the Coyotes capitalized in transition.

Central Arizona (16–14, 6–9 ACCAC) responded in the third quarter behind Qoah Yazzie, trimming the deficit with a 15-point frame. CSN's offense cooled, managing 10 third-quarter points, but key baskets from Ajomale and a transition finish from Mabry preserved a 49–39 lead entering the fourth.

The final quarter tested CSN's composure.

The Vaqueras cut the margin to seven with just over four minutes remaining, but Bradley delivered a timely three-pointer to halt the run. From there, the Lady Coyotes relied on defensive rebounds and free throws to secure the 10-point victory.

Ajomale finished with 27 points and 14 rebounds for a dominant double-double performance. Jackson added 13 points and 12 rebounds, giving CSN a second double-double in the contest. Mabry contributed five points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Bradley chipped in six points.

CSN controlled the glass with a 54–44 rebounding advantage and converted 20 second-chance points. The Lady Coyotes also capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 18-of-29 attempts, including key makes down the stretch.

While ACCAC play has concluded, CSN will return to action one final time in the regular season on Monday night at the Coyote Event Center, hosting Nellis Diamonds in a non-conference matchup. The Lady Coyotes will also honor their sophomore class in a pregame recognition ceremony before tip-off.

Following Monday's contest, attention will turn to the official Region 1 playoff announcement, where CSN, Cochise College, and Central Arizona await their postseason fate and their potential path toward a Region 1 championship.
