MOJAVE, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2026) — The College of Southern Nevada Cross Country teams opened the 2026 season in record-breaking fashion Friday at the Rossi Relays, competing against a strong field of more than 25 programs representing the NJCAA, NAIA and NCAA levels.
The Coyotes wasted no time making their presence felt.
The women's 4x800-meter relay team set the tone early with a historic performance. The quartet of Cheyene Dillingham, Sienna Maisano, Katie Iniguez and Reese LeBaron shattered the previous school record by 55 seconds, posting a team time of 10:21 to begin the day on a high note.
The men followed with a pair of record-setting efforts in the same event. CSN's first 4x800 relay squad clocked an 8:19, eclipsing the previous school record of 8:21. Later in the meet, the second Coyote relay team of Gerardo Osorio, Jayden Jackson, Aidan Miller and Dominic Tsao lowered the mark even further with a blazing 8:03, firmly establishing a new standard for the program.
After a brief break in competition, the Coyotes returned to the track for the 3,000-meter races — and the record book continued to take a hit.
Dillingham capped an outstanding day by breaking the women's 3K school record by 18 seconds, finishing in 11:18. Teammate Sienna Maisano added another strong performance with a time of 11:39.
On the men's side, Jackson continued his standout meet with a school-record time of 8:43 in the 3K. Osorio (8:50) and Tsao (8:53) also finished under the previous school record mark, while Miller turned in a solid 9:19 performance.
With multiple school records falling and several athletes delivering breakthrough efforts, CSN opens the season with significant momentum and depth across both programs.
The Coyotes will return to competition on March 14 at the Occidental College Distance Carnival & Spring Break Classic in Los Angeles, California.
