Snow College Badgers vs College of Southern Nevada Coyotes

North Las Vegas- CSN fed off a capacity crowd inside the Sports Center during their match against the Snow College Badgers.
The first set showed just how evenly matched these two teams were early on. They went deep into the set going point for point without either team gaining full advantage. Christina Beaver provided two aces while Johanna Alvarez-Thompson and Bailey Berquist contributed several kills as they pressured the Badgers. The crowd inside the Sports Center was electric and gave the Coyotes a huge boost after each of their points. Snow College remained competitive as they tried to fight off the Coyotes. Key serving opportunities went the way of Snow College toward the end of the set and the Badgers went on to win 25-21.

The second set provided the same momentum for both teams as they continued their point for point rhythm. An ace form the Bagders allowed for them to pull away until the Coyotes record vital kills behind Bergquist and Alvarez-Thompson. An ace from Olivia Stet gave CSN back the momentum and forced Snow to call a timeout. That timeout proved to be beneficial to the visitors as they continued to serve well and then pull away to win 17-25.

After a 10 minute break, the teams returned to the court and the crowd remained loud as they cheered on their Coyotes. Once again, both teams battled hard and created high-effort plays for their respective sides. Hannah Karas played well as the Coyotes libero and had an ace to compliment her effort. Following their teammates example, Stet and Beaver delivered aces of their own as they pressed the issue on the Badgers. Berquist,  Tegtmeier, and Remer provided kills as each team exchanged serves deep into the match. The teams were tied at 23 until the Badgers collected the final two points to take the match in straight sets.

CSN will host North Idaho College Thursday, October 8, inside the CSN Sports Center at the Cheyenne Campus.
