Box Score By James HernandezHenderson, NV - Day 2 of the 2016 Coyote Border Battle got a late start for the Coyotes, however sophomore righty
Gabe Gonzalez's performance made the wait worth it. Gonzalez displayed amazing control and command of his fastball as he stayed one step ahead of an overmatched Matadors lineup all night long. Offensively the Coyotes were patient at the plate and took advantage of 13 walks by Arizona Western pitching to build a comfortable 6-0 lead. The six run fourth inning gave CSN a comfortable lead that would never be threatened. The Matadors rallied for a pair of runs in the sixth inning, but ultimately fell short as CSN would secure a 7-2 victory to improve its season record to 2-0. Â
