College of Southern Nevada Coyotes

CSN Softball snow vs csn gm 4

Softball Sports Information Director

Late inning rally by the Coyotes falls just short

Box Score

By James Hernandez

After being held scoreless in the first 13 innings of play Saturday afternoon, the Coyotes bats woke up and nearly snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat.

CSN starting pitcher Shonda Badayos allowed four runs in seven innings of work including just one run over her final five innings to keep her Coyotes in the game the entire way.

CSN entered the bottom of the seventh inning trailing 4-0 and in danger of being shutout for a second consecutive game, but Badayos would have none of that. After fighting through an 11 pitch at bat she lifted a two-run blast over the left field wall to cut the Coyote deficit in half.

Unfortunately the rally would fall just short as Chelsea Perez was retired for the final out of the game. CSN was defeated by Snow College 4-2 in the final game of the weekend and will travel to Salt Lake City next week for a matchup with preseason conference favorite SLCC beginning Friday afternoon.
