Freshman
Herbie Good took the ball for the Coyotes looking to get himself back on track after a rough debut last Saturday night versus the Central Arizona College Vaqueros.
Good responded this afternoon with 5 innings of shutout baseball, allowing just a pair of hits while striking out five.
Right fielder
Christian Maggi had a pair of RBI's to help spark a dormant CSN offense and freshman
Peyton Koopman added an RBI single in the fourth to stake the Coyotes to a 3-0 lead.
Unfortunately for CSN, the Apaches rallied on the top of the 7th to tie the game when pinch hitter Alexander Marco lost a ball over the left field wall for a three run homer, knotting the game at 3 apiece.
Following the shocking rally by Cochise in the top of the seventh, the Coyotes responded with the heart and resolve of a champion in the bottom of the inning.
Following a two out walk from
Dillon Johnson, the pride of Little Rock Arkansas
Blake Wiggins stepped up to the plate looking to do some damage.
Coach Garritano gave Blake the green light on a 3-0 count and the Coyotes clean up hitter did not disappoint.
Wiggins crushed a 3-0 fastball over the left field scoreboard to give CSN a much needed 5-3 walkoff victory over the Cochise College Apaches.
