CSN was hoping the momentum from yesterdays late inning heroics would carry over into the Saturday afternoon finale versus Cochise College.

Sophomore lefty Ben Cutting did his part, allowing five hits over five innings of work while striking out six Apaches.

RBI's from Blake Wiggins (7) and Justin Lutes (6) in the bottom of the first inning staked CSN to an early 2-0 lead, but unfortunately for the Coyotes the bats went dormant.

Cochise College rallied to take the lead for good in the top of the sixth inning, plating a pair of runs off of relievers Bryce Bartlett and Blake Inouye. Jordan Macias clutched up with the first home run of his Coyote career in the bottom of the eighth to bring CSN to within a run at 4-3, but that was as close as the Coyotes would get.

Cochise College held on to defeat CSN 5-3, taking three of four in the series and dropping the Coyotes to 3-5 on the year.
