CSN took its five game winning streak on the road to Price, Utah as the Lady Coyotes prepared to battle the USU-Eastern Eagles in a crucial mid-season Scenic West Athletic Conference clash.

Deja Rogers entered the circle for the opening game of the weekend with a ton of momentum after dominating the CNCC Spartans last weekend, on her way to a pair of victories in the teams four game sweep. Rogers was the recipient of instant run support as CSN struck for nine runs before she even threw a single pitch.

Kara Simpson continued her assault on SWAC pitching delivering a game high five RBI's, highlighted by some two-run yard work in the top of the fifth inning.

Jinger Meuir launched a solo shot of her own, plating a pair of RBI's while Chandie Perez, Jordan Menke and Brianna Neveu (1st career HR) each chipped in with one RBI apiece. Rogers earned her fifth victory of the season after tossing five innings of two hit softball.

CSN defeated USU-E 13-3 to open up its weekend series versus the Eagles. The victory improved the Lady Coyotes SWAC record to 7-2 and overall season record to 12-6.

Game two of the weekend featured sophomore Shonda Badayos hunting for her eighth win of the season.

For the second straight game the Lady Coyote offense staked its starting pitcher to a significant lead before they tossed their first pitch of the game. Jinger Meuir and Kara Simpson led the offensive assault, combining for six RBI's and a pair of long balls. Mackenzie McBride had a perfect day at the plate with a pair of hits to go along with a walk and 2 RBI's. Jordan Menke, Emily Guthrie, Taryn Southerland and Jessica Garcia plated one RBI each in CSN's second blowout victory of the day.

Once again CSN's starter needed to complete only five innings to earn the victory and Badayos did just that. The sophomore allowed just three hits and one run on her way to win number eight. CSN defeated USU-E 13-1 in game two of the weekend to improve to 8-2 in SWAC play and 13-6 overall.

Following a 26 run outburst in two games on Friday, CSN was hoping the bats would remain hot Saturday afternoon as the team eyed its eighth consecutive conference victory.

The Lady Coyotes scored first for the third consecutive contest, plating five runs in the first two innings courtesy of a Jordan Menke two-RBI triple in the top of the first and a Kara Simpson double in top of the second plating a pair of runs. The five run cushion would be more than enough for Deja Rogers as she fired her second complete game of the weekend. This time the former Bellevue high school standout controlled the Eagles all game long, surrendering just one hit on her way to a complete game shutout, fanning five Eagles along the way.

Kiana Burnett put the finishing touches on the victory in the top of the sixth inning, launching a three-run bomb over the centerfield wall that extended the Lady Coyotes lead to eight runs. CSN defeated USU-E 8-0 in game three of the weekend, improving to 9-2 in SWAC play and extending its conference winning streak to eight games.

The final game of the weekend between the Lady Coyotes and the Eagles took on a completely different look from the previous three games; in fact CSN would need to erase a six run deficit in order to extend its winning streak to nine games.

TheEagles scrapped all afternoon long, plating seven runs in the first four to take a seemingly commanding 7-1 lead into the top of the seventh inning.

Allie Lamb and Kara Simpson produced back to back RBI singles cutting the Eagles lead to 7-3 and Daryan Meade did the rest.

The former Foothill Falcon proved she had a flair for the dramatic, launching a grand slam over the left field wall, scoring Meuir, Lamb and Simpson to tie the game up 7-7. Sophomore Kiana Burnett took advantage of a shell shocked USU-E team, putting a solo shot over the left field wall, that gave her team an improbable 8-7 lead.

Lindsey Daron pitched a three up, three down bottom of the seventh to secure the sweep for the Lady Coyotes. CSN snatched victory from the jaws of defeat 8-7 to sweep USU-E at home and improve to 10-2 in SWAC play extending the team's season best winning streak to nine games.

Fans come out and help your Lady Coyotes "protect the den" as we host the first place and two-time defending SWAC champion SLCC Bruins for four games beginning Friday afternoon.
