CSN came into the weekend with the momentum of a nine-game conference win streak as they welcomed the 4
th ranked SLCC into "the den" for a weekend clash. Coming into the series the Lady Coyotes (10-2) and Bruins (11-1) were only separated by a single game in the Scenic West standings.
Salt Lake ace Addie Jensen (10-1) matched up with CSN's
Dejah Rogers (6-3) in the opening game looking to set a winning tone for their respective teams in this showdown for division supremacy.
Kara Simpson tallied her team-leading 32
nd run batted in of the season in the bottom of the first, scoring
Jinger Meuir to give the Lady Coyotes an early 1-0 lead. Unfortunately for CSN, Salt Lake would score seven unanswered runs to take a 7-1 lead into their bottom of the sixth inning.
Justine Tadeo-Corpuz singled home
Alexa Campbell to cut the deficit to 7-2, but that was as close as the Lady Coyotes would get.
The Bruins added a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to defeat CSN, 9-2 in the series opener.
Shonda Badayos (8-1) stepped into the circle for game two of the weekend and was opposed by former Australian national team member and San Jose State Spartan, Chantelle Ladner (9-3).
CSN's win leader was touched up for three runs in the top of the first inning, surrendering five earned runs over her seven innings of work.
Alexa Campbell singled home
Kara Simpson in the bottom of the fourth, unfortunately it would be the only run of the day for the Lady Coyotes. Ladner dominated CSN all afternoon long, allowing just one run and striking out eight to earn her tenth victory of the season.
SLCC defeated CSN 8-1 in game two, dropping the Lady Coyotes to 10-4 in SWAC play and 15-8 overall.
Game three of the series was a matchup of both teams wins leaders, Addie Jensen (12-1) versus
Shonda Badayos (8-2).
Salt Lake plated multiple runs in all five of its offensive innings, overwhelming CSN with 20 runs and 21 hits.
Jordan Menke scampered home in the bottom of the first inning off of a wild pitch from Jensen, but another limited offensive afternoon doomed the Lady Coyotes.

Kara Simpson provided CSN's right fielder with her team leading 33
rd run batted in of the season in the bottom of the fourth, but by that time the game had already been decided.
The Bruins defeated the Coyotes 20-2 in game three, dropping CSN to 10-5 in conference and 15-9 overall.
Dejah Rogers got her second crack at the Bruins in the weekend finale, hoping to salvage a victory in the series and put an end to the teams three game losing streak.
The sophomore came out throwing with a purpose from the opening pitch and kept CSN in the game the entire afternoon.
Following a scoreless opening frame from both teams, the Coyotes got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning.

Justine Tadeo-Corpuz reached on an error that plated
Emily Guthrie, extending the Lady Coyotes lead to 2-0.
A sacrifice fly off the bat of Madison Sisco in the top of the fifth tied the game up 2-2, and clean-up hitter Alex Valencia put the Bruins in the lead for good with a 2-run bomb later that inning.
SLCC held on to defeat CSN 7-2 and sweep the four-game series.
The loss dropped the Lady Coyotes to 10-6 in SWAC play and 15-10 overall.
Fans your Lady Coyotes will be in Twin Falls, Idaho for a weekend tussle with the CSI Golden Eagles beginning Friday afternoon.
