HENDERSON, Nev. (May 14, 2020) – An absence of live sports doesn't mean an absence of opportunities to cheer for the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Coyotes.
In an effort to raise funds for the CSN Student Emergency Fund, the CSN Athletic Department is joining with the CSN Foundation to host a virtual stadium-sellout challenge for a replay of the CSN baseball team's 2019 Region 18 championship win over the College of Southern Idaho. All donations will benefit CSN students who are in need of short term, financial support to stay in school due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dexter Irvin, CSN's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreation, said strong partnerships with several groups have brought about this opportunity.
"What an opportunity this is to put ourselves in a position to assist students all over campus," he said. "CSN Athletics is proud to partner with the CSN Foundation to help students at CSN. Coyote Athletics is focused on supporting CSN student success so they can be successful at their educational pursuits."
The event, where donors 'purchase' virtual tickets for the game, will digitally fill CSN Baseball's Morse Stadium. Donation opportunities will be available online beginning on May 14, with a close of May 22. On Saturday May 23 at 1:00 p.m., participants will be able to enjoy a replay of CSN's 7-1 win over Southern Idaho in the Region 18 championship game, a victory that sent CSN to the 2019 NJCAA Western District championships. The goal of the event is to raise at least $30,000 for the CSN Student Emergency Fund. The CSN Foundation has already raised more than $175,000 and has a goal of at least $250, to help CSN students in need of financial support.
Donation levels range from $32 per seat to $5,000 for a section in the box. $32 for a Field-Level individual seat; $125 for a Family Pack Reserved Seating package; $425 for a 'Fill-a-Row' Field Level seating package; and $1,250 for a 'Fill-a-Section' Field Level seating package. A $5,000 'Fill-a-Section' box package also exists.
"As demonstrated in the past and now, CSN Athletics is dedicated to serving our students, our athletes and our Coyote Nation," said Irvin.
