"We are seeing a lot of growth in our team in the first week of our season. Going into week two, we are hungry for a win. In all this will be the longest road trip I have experienced in 17 years of coaching. We embraced that challenge and we see improvement in our team. CSN coach
Dorothy Kendrick said she was impressed with the strides her team made during the first week of the season.
"These first three games have allowed us to recognize the pieces of our puzzles that we must put in place to complete our foundation towards building a strong program," she said. "With a combined group of seven freshmen and five sophomores -- establishing our identity as a unit will be a key.
"We are experiencing some developing spurts in every game, but that is not enough to be competitive within our conference. We need to have that gritty-grinding attitude of wanting it more than our opposing team and when that starts to become a regular expectation of our daily routine, then success will follow. Therefore, we must step up offensively and defensively and leave everything on the floor."
Volleyball: The Lady Coyotes will take to the court for the first time this week, opening with a series of Scenic West Athletic Conference matches.
CSN will open with a Wednesday match at Colorado Northwestern and a Thursday match at USU Eastern, marking the first matches for the program since Fall of 2019. Southern Nevada will make its home debut on Feb. 26 against Snow College.
