The College of Southern Nevada's men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Coolidge, Arizona, to participate in the George Young Invitational, which was hosted by Central Arizona College (CAC) last week. The picturesque course took runners through the beautiful campus, commencing at the George Young Gymnasium.
This invitational featured a diverse range of schools, including NAIA, NJCAA D1, and D2 colleges. Among the participating schools were Central Arizona, Phoenix College, Park University, Pima, Estrella Mountain CC, Southern Nevada, Dine College, Ottawa University, and Tohono O'odham.
The action began with the men's 8k race, where the CSN men's team delivered a strong performance, finishing 3rd overall behind nationally ranked Central Arizona College and Pima. Dennis Speaks of CSN shone in the race, securing a medal by finishing in 13th place.

In the women's 5k race that followed, the CSN women's team showcased their prowess, securing the runner-up position behind nationally ranked Central Arizona. Four members of CSN's 21st-ranked women's team finished in the top 15.

With this invitational behind them, the CSN cross country teams will take a week off from competition before concluding their regular season at the Titan Invitational in Fullerton, California. As they continue their season, the CSN cross country teams aim to build on their successes and prepare for upcoming challenges on the horizon.
