RIVERSIDE, Calif. (October 18, 2025) – The College of Southern Nevada men's cross country team delivered a record-setting performance at the 2025 Highlander Cross Country Invitational, hosted by the University of California, Riverside. The Coyotes set a new program record for team time, clocking 2:08:56 with an average of 25:48 per runner, to finish 19th overall out of 25 scoring teams in a deep, NCAA Division I–loaded field.
The effort also saw CSN finish ahead of conference rival Pima Community College, marking a huge step forward for the program and a confidence booster heading into next week's Region 18 Championships.
Led by freshman
Jayden Jackson, who shattered his personal best with a time of 24:41, the Coyotes put together one of their most complete team efforts of the season. Jackson's mark was among the top individual finishes ever recorded by a CSN athlete and helped anchor the team's historic outing.
Gerardo Osorio (25:39) and
Dominic Tsao (25:57) followed closely behind, both breaking the 26-minute barrier, while
Pedro Rios (26:12) and
Aidan Miller (26:25) rounded out the Coyotes' top five.
Together, the group produced the fastest combined team time in program history, with just a 1:44 scoring spread, showcasing the team's growing depth and balance.
The race took place at UC Riverside's Agricultural Operations Course, a mostly flat 8,000-meter loop with a few rolling sections and hard-packed dirt designed for fast times.
Surrounded by 100-year-old citrus trees and under ideal racing weather, the Coyotes capitalized on the conditions, producing personal records across the lineup.
With momentum now squarely on their side, the Coyotes turn their attention to the Region 18 Championships next week, where they'll look to continue their surge and punch their ticket to the NJCAA National Championships.
