CSN Cross Country Shines at 2024 ACCAC Conference Championship

Glendale, AZ - The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) cross country teams delivered an impressive performance at the 2024 ACCAC Conference Championship, held at Glendale Heroes Park on Saturday. This year's event, hosted by Estrella Mountain Community College, featured 11 teams from across the ACCAC, including newcomer CSN, which competed against the best in the conference, including Division I schools Central Arizona College (CAC) and Pima Community College.

The championship course posed a unique challenge for the runners, as the majority of the race took place on cement, surrounding a local wash, with one significant hill that tested the endurance of all competitors. Despite these conditions, CSN's athletes showcased their dedication and hard work throughout the race.

Women's Race Recap

The CSN women's team had a stellar showing, finishing in third place overall, right behind Central Arizona College and Pima Community College. Jackie Garcia led the Coyotes with a remarkable 4th place overall finish, completing the course in 20:01. Her strong effort was supported by a solid team performance:

CSN's pack running strategy worked to perfection, helping them outpace Pima in a thrilling team battle. The men's team proved that they could compete with the best and achieve significant milestones in ACCAC competition.

Looking Ahead

The Coyotes' outstanding performances at the ACCAC Championship set the stage for even greater things to come. Both the men's and women's teams will next compete at the CAMPY Invitational, hosted by Central Arizona College. This event will feature many nationally ranked NJCAA programs, offering another opportunity for CSN to showcase their growing prowess on a larger stage.

As the Coyotes continue to develop, the ACCAC Championship marks an important moment in their journey, and with a strong finish in the books, they look ahead with excitement and determination to continue pushing their limits.
