The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) student-athletes and staff lit up the night as they volunteered their time and energy to support the
Opportunity Village Magical Forest, spreading holiday cheer and embracing the spirit of community service. Representing all CSN athletic programs, over 200 student-athletes and staff participated in this heartwarming event, showcasing their dedication to giving back to the Las Vegas community.
Athletes from
Women's and Men's Soccer, Volleyball, Women's and Men's Cross Country, Women's and Men's Basketball, Baseball, Softball, and the
CSN Cheer Team came together for a night of service and connection. The team members were stationed throughout the Magical Forest, assisting with various activities, entertaining visitors, and helping create unforgettable memories for families attending the festive event.
The evening was more than an opportunity to spread joy—it was a chance for CSN student-athletes to connect with the community that supports them. As they worked together to keep the forest magical, they demonstrated the core values of CSN Athletics: leadership, teamwork, and service.
"Our student-athletes work hard on and off the field, and events like this are a meaningful way for them to give back to the community that cheers them on," said a CSN Athletics Director Yvonne Wade. "It was incredible to see representation from all of our sports, working side by side and making a difference. This is what being a CSN Coyote is all about."
For many athletes, the evening also served as a reminder of the broader role they play as ambassadors for the college and as role models for the younger generation. Whether they were greeting families, assisting with rides, or lending a hand to Opportunity Village staff, they brought energy, compassion, and holiday spirit to every task.
CSN Athletics takes pride in fostering a culture that emphasizes both athletic excellence and community engagement. The opportunity to participate in the
Opportunity Village Magical Forest was a powerful way to reinforce those values while making a tangible impact on the local community.
The event served as a memorable evening for everyone involved and underscored CSN Athletics' commitment to not only achieving greatness in sports but also inspiring greatness in service. The department looks forward to continuing its tradition of community involvement and hopes to return to the Magical Forest next year, stronger and more united than ever.
As the holiday season continues, CSN Athletics extends its gratitude to Opportunity Village for welcoming them and to the Las Vegas community for their unwavering support. Together, they're building a brighter, more connected future—one magical moment at a time.
