LAS VEGAS, Nev. (October 4, 2025) — The College of Southern Nevada Cross Country program proudly hosted the 4th Annual CSN Cross Country Invitational this past weekend, welcoming hundreds of student-athletes from across Southern Nevada for a day filled with competition, community, and Coyote pride.
This year's invitational was unique — doubling as both a fundraiser to benefit the CSN men's and women's cross country teams and a developmental event spotlighting high school and middle school athletes. The races drew more than 700 total participants, marking the most successful turnout in the event's four-year history.
High School Division Highlights
In the boys' high school division, Bishop Gorman High School claimed the team championship, powered by standout performances including individual race winner Jason Benedict, who crossed the finish line first among an impressive field of 248 male runners.
On the girls' side, Desert Oasis High School took home the team title, while Madeline Labay of Bishop Gorman was crowned the individual champion, emerging from a competitive group of 158 female athletes.
Middle School Division Results
The next generation of runners also shined in the middle school races.
Anthony Saville Middle School captured the boys' team championship, led by Tiave Thurgood, who won the individual boys' race out of a strong field of 148 competitors.
In the girls' division, Faith Lutheran Middle School secured the team title, while Rayna Lewis from Clifford J. Lawrence Middle School — a Junior Olympian — raced to victory in the individual girls' category, finishing ahead of 151 total runners.
CSN Cross Country Head Coach and event organizers praised the community response and participation, noting that the invitational has become an annual highlight for Southern Nevada's youth running scene. The event not only provides an opportunity for local student-athletes to compete on a collegiate course but also serves as an important fundraising initiative to support the Coyotes' own cross country teams throughout their season.
The CSN Cross Country Invitational continues to grow each year, bringing together schools, families, and the Las Vegas running community in celebration of teamwork, perseverance, and the spirit of competition.
Next up for the Coyotes, the women's team will travel to San Diego, California to compete in the Manny Bautista XC Invite on October 10, and the men's team will travel to Riverside, California, to compete in the Highlander Invitational hosted by UC Riverside on October 18.
