Coyotes Earn Top-10 Finish at UC Riverside Invitational

Riverside, CA — September 27, 2025- The College of Southern Nevada Men's Cross Country team continued its impressive season with a 7th-place team finish at the UC Riverside Cross Country Invitational, competing against a deep field of four-year universities, junior colleges, and club programs.

The men's 8,000-meter open race began at 8:55 a.m. on the UCR Agricultural Operations Course, a mostly flat but fast layout with rolling hills and hard-packed dirt, winding through century-old citrus groves. The event featured 22 scoring teams and 287 total runners, making it one of the largest and most competitive meets of the Coyotes' season to date.

The Coyotes put together a strong collective effort, led by sophomore Jayden Jackson, who ran a stellar 25:08 to place 8th overall in the field. His top-10 finish helped set the tone for the team's depth-driven performance.

He was followed closely by: The group combined for a 26:03 team time, securing the program's best performance of the season against elite competition.
 
The Coyotes' 7th-place team finish among 22 programs underscored the steady progress the men have shown this year. With five runners under 26:30 and a top-10 individual finisher, CSN continues to establish itself as a rising force in the cross country community.
 
The UC Riverside Invitational gave CSN valuable experience on a high-profile course against some of the top programs in the West. The Coyotes will now return to training before heading back to Riverside, where they will compete in the Highlander Invitational hosted by UC Riverside on October 18. The meet will provide another opportunity for the Coyotes to test themselves against high-level competition as they build toward a championship season.
