EPHRAIM, Utah (October 29, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada Men's Soccer team showed well on the All-Region 18 Men's Soccer team list.
The Coyotes were represented on the All-Region 18 First Team by
Alfredo Diaz and
Jose Gonzalez, leading five players from CSN on the list. Diaz scored six goals on the season, while Gonzalez had a shooting percentage of .333.
SLCC coach Mark Davis was named Region 18 'Coach-of-the-Year', while Bruins midfielder Omar Gomez earned 'Most-Valuable-Player' honors. The Region 18 'Goalkeeper-of-the-Year' honors were shared by Salt Lake's Christian Olivares and Colorado Northwestern's Leo Loya.
Salt Lake led the honorees on the All-Region 18 First Team, placing four players on the list. The All-Region 18 First-Team honorees are: Taimu Okiyoshi, Ryen Jiba, Paul Richnow, Azriel Johnson (Salt Lake); Zachary Lifferth, Ryuya Muira, Rintaro Tanigawa (Snow); Joseph Valle and Parker Huff (USU Eastern); and
Alfredo Diaz and
Jose Gonzalez (Southern Nevada).
The All-Region 18 Second-Team honorees include: Santiago Delfino and Kai Phillip (Salt Lake); Joshua Robinson and Locke Fay (Snow); CJ Wiggins and Jackson Barney (USU Eastern);
Christopher Bramasco and
Eli Zaragosa (Southern Nevada); Erick Ceja Gonzales (Truckee Meadows); Brandon Mercado (Colorado Northwestern); and Isaac Sabalza (Community Christian).
Honorable-mention players in Region 18 were: Sergio Martinez (Salt Lake); Austin Murray (Snow); Janson Hodges (USU Eastern);
Fernando Gonzalez (Southern Nevada); Luis Chavez (Truckee Meadows); Isaac Medina (Colorado Northwestern); and Kevin Ramos (Community Christian).
Salt Lake and Snow will play for the Region 18 championship on Saturday in Ephraim.
