Lady Coyotes place three athletes on prestigious All-Region 18 awards list

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (March 9, 2023) – The College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team placed three players on the All-Region 18 honors list.
 
CSN's Jordyn Stroud, Aaliyah Ibarra and Paige Grant all received honors from the Scenic West Athletic Conference, with Stroud and Ibarra both earning All-Region 18 Second Team distinction. 
 
Salt Lake's Aminata Diakite earned 'Player-of-the-Year' honors. Southern Idaho placed a league-high five players on the awards list, with CSI coach Randy Rogers earning the 'Coach-of-the-Year' award. 
 
A native of Mali, Diakite posted season averages of 16.8 points and 5.2 rebounds for Salt Lake. She scored a season-high 31 points in a January loss to Southern Idaho. Rogers led the Lady Golden Eagles to a season mark of 28-2 overall and a national ranking of No. 4 in the latest NJCAA polls.
 
The All-Region 18 First Team included: Diakite and Finau Tonga (Salt Lake), Brooklyn Palmer (USU Eastern), Kaylee Headrick and Alyssa Christensen (Southern Idaho), Sami Suguturaga (Snow), and Hailey Long (Colorado Northwestern). Honorees on the All-Region 18 Second Team were: Jordyn Stroud and Aaliyah Ibarra (Southern Nevada), Livia Knapp (Southern Idaho), Maci Wall (USU Eastern), Eva Kingston (Colorado Northwestern), and Noriyah Smith (Community Christian).
 
Honorable mentions for the All-Region 18 awards were: Allyzee Verdan and Ashton Adamson (Salt Lake), Kennedy Eskelson and Kali Haizlip (Southern Idaho), Sakura Bradley (Community Christian), Jessie Lang (Snow), and Paige Grant (Southern Nevada). 
 
Southern Idaho and Salt Lake will play for the Region 18 title Friday.
