After months of grueling practices under the unrelenting desert heat it was finally time for first time collegiate head coach Jennifer Schultz and her Lady Coyotes to take the pitch and reawaken a program that had lie dormant for nearly a decade.

The opening season test for CSN would lead them to California's "Inland Empire" where they would face off against the Mustangs of Norco College.

It began as a wide-open, up and down affair in which both clubs had multiple scoring opportunities, but soon after the Lady Coyotes were able to find that extra gear leaving  the Mustangs in the dust.

The College of Southern Nevada coasted to a convincing 4-1 opening season victory over Norco College and set its sight on Palm Desert, California and a date the following evening with the Roadrunners.

Riding high off of a season opening win the Lady Coyotes immediately established a pace of play that was conducive to earning a second victory.

CSN was one step ahead of COD all evening long , which allowed Schultz's team to cruise to a 4-0 shutout victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Carolina Velasquez (16 saves, 1 goal allowed) in two games continued to display jaw-dropping athleticism in net for CSN and it was enough to earn her the SWAC Women's Soccer "Keeper of the Week" award.

Not to be outdone, former California Baptist product Nadia Hernandez made her return home a memorable one.

The sophomore forward accounted for four of the teams eight goals scored over the first two games and was named the SWAC Women's Soccer "Player of the Week".

Our Lady Coyotes will be back in action Thursday September 9th @ 2p.m. for its SWAC conference home opener vs. Utah State University Eastern.
