The College of Southern Nevada announces the resignation of Coach Sue Thurman.

LAS VEGAS, March 15, 2018 – College of Southern Nevada and Athletic Director Dexter Irvin has accepted the resignation of Head Volleyball Coach Sue Thurman earlier this week.  Coach Thurman was the inaugural head coach of the CSN Lady Coyote Volleyball team, hired in the fall of 2014, and led the Lady Coyotes for three seasons.  Coach Thurman was an important piece of Coyote Athletics; she laid the foundation for future Coyote volleyball teams to be successful.

"Sue has been an important and integral part of athletics at CSN.  Starting something as complex as an intercollegiate volleyball program from scratch requires incredible energy, knowledge and commitment.  I am so honored that we had Sue for the past three years.  She provided a great base for us with her integrity, knowledge and skill, we are excited to look to the future and see what it holds for CSN Volleyball ." Said Dexter Irvin.

During Thurman's time as head coach of the Lady Coyotes she was named 2016 Region 18 Coach of the Year, had 8 Academic All Americans (Through Spring 2017), and numerous Region 18 individual player awards.  All three of Coach Thurman's teams had a minimum 3.0 team GPA.

The Office of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation extends our thanks to Coach Thurman for her time and effort she put in building a new program.  We wish her the best as she plans to spend more time with her family.

The College of Southern Nevada will hire a new volleyball coach in the upcoming weeks. Information regarding the position will post in the next few days please log onto www.csn.edu.
