HENDERSON, Nev. (October 10, 2019) – The College of Southern Nevada volleyball team has had its struggles getting underway in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The hope for the Lady Coyotes this weekend is to fix some of what has ailed them in the start to league play, especially as the program prepares for another pair of road matches at USU Eastern and Colorado Northwestern Community College. Sitting with a 4-13 record and an 0-3 mark in Scenic West play, the Lady Coyotes are tied with CNCC at the bottom of the standings.
CSN coach
Chris Vergnaud said his team is excited for the opportunity to improve over the coming weekend.
Thursday's match against USU Eastern will provide a strong challenge for the Lady Coyotes, USU Eastern is ranked 13th in the NJCAA polls with a record of 21-6 overall and 2-1 in the Scenic West. The Eagles have earned wins over Southern Idaho and Colorado Northwestern, along with a loss to Salt Lake Community College.
While Thursday's match will come against a Scenic West contender, Saturday's match against Colorado Northwestern will provide a chance for the Scenic West's two winless teams to earn a victory in league play. CNCC is on a nine-match losing streak and is 0-3 to open league play.
Southern Nevada will play USU Eastern on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Price, with a 12:00 p.m. match against Colorado Northwestern Saturday. CSN will return home on Oct. 31 for a match against CNCC.
